Mortons Distribution Deal
Morton Books Agrees to Distribution Deal with Casemate
Havertown, PA (June 25, 2019): To further their representational reach, increase sales, and improve brand awareness in North America, Mortons Media Group and Casemate Group have come to a distribution agreement for print and digital books in North America. Effective July 1, 2019, Mortons Books and its imprints including Gallantry Books, Tempest Books, Banovallum Books, Gresley Books, and Timespan will be duly represented in North America for sales, marketing and distribution by Casemate.
Mortons Media Group is a long-established and highly respected independent publishing company, established in the 19th century. The publisher is committed to producing quality publications on a range of topics—from railway, military, and aviation history to consumer issues, hobbies, crime, and politics under five imprints.
War and warfare in all its myriad forms is the realm of Gallantry Books. The experiences of soldiers and sailors during combat, their lives, their weapons, their equipment, their vehicles, and their vessels are what interests us—alongside a broader view of history’s greatest battles, sieges, and campaigns.
All aspects of aviation history are covered in authoritative detail by Tempest Books. The aviators and aircraft of the Second World War are profiled alongside more modern fighters, bombers, reconnaissance aircraft and transports. ‘Secret projects’ and experimental designs are also an important part of the Tempest Books portfolio.
Banovallum Books explores a huge range of modern interests and experiences—from veganism to venomous spiders, from composting to communism, from knitting to fitness. Covering consumer and leisure topics of every variety, Banovallum Books is dedicated to producing high quality titles which offer readers an informed and informative look at lifestyle and specialist subjects.
Gresley Books seeks to explore, explain, and celebrate Britain’s unparalleled history of great railways and locomotives. They cover everything from the pioneering days of the early railways to the golden age of steam, into preservation and the ongoing story of modern diesels and electrics.
Timespan Books sheds new light on the secrets and mysteries of history. Whether it’s the story of ancient Egypt’s 30 dynasties, a biography of Henry VIII’s wives, the slave trade in the 1700s, an account of the Suffragette movement, or a recollection of the music of the 1980s, it has a home at Timespan.
“Mortons Media Group is new to books but has decades of experience in magazine publishing,” said Steven O’Hara, Publisher. “Our strength is in understanding what our customers want and creating products specifically tailored to suit their requirements. The new Mortons Books non-fiction range will focus primarily on aviation, history, military history, and lifestyle topics. We are thrilled to have joined forces with Casemate in North America and are confident that their unrivalled expertise and experience will successfully drive our business forward in this crucial territory. Looking to the future, we believe this exciting new partnership will deliver outstanding results for both parties and for our customers.”
Michaela Goff, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Client Relations for Casemate Group, who brokered the deal, agreed “Mortons Books is a long established and well-respected company and we hope to bring them many new readers here in the United States and Canada. We are excited to be able to bring our North American market reach to them.”
Mortons Books currently has 31 titles in the pipeline for 2019/2020 with the plan to increase that number to between 50 and 100 books annually.
