Casemate Group and Australian publisher Avonmore Books have come to a distribution agreement for print books outside Australia. A critically acclaimed publisher of aviation and military history books, this is the first time Avonmore Books have had an international trade distribution arrangement.
Casemate Publishers will be distributing the books in North America, and Casemate UK will be distributing Avonmore’s book in the UK, Europe and Rest of World. Avonmore are dedicated to taking the newest historical research and creating high-quality publications, written by experts and academics, for historians, researchers and enthusiasts alike.
Avonmore Books is based in Kent Town, South Australia, specialising in military and aviation history, with a particular interest on the early period of the Pacific War. Avonmore prides itself in being the only mainstream Australian military history publisher producing full colour, illustrated books. Peter Ingman, Avonmore’s founder feels “while expensive to produce, we strive to produce titles that are a pleasure to own and read, and which incorporate first-class profiles, illustrations and maps.”
Avonmore plans to produce 5–6 new titles a year, and they have a solid backlist of 10 titles, all of which will be introduced into the market within the first year.
Simone Drinkwater, VP of business development for Casemate, secured the deal with Avonmore Books. “Avonmore’s books are of the highest quality, with supremely detailed illustrations, expert research and new information, with a growing reputation,” noted Drinkwater. “We believe their future list will be just as strong and well-received as their publications to date.”
